Product Description

Our RF level switch is widely applied in various products such as Building industry materials, cement, sand, lime, milk powder, flour, salt, food grains, powder, granular, chemical and mining etc. These comprise of a specially designed electronics and sensing probe using Driven Shield Coat Guard circuit and corresponding 3-Element Probe.

The electro-mechanical combination of the Coat Guard technique is there makes the system immune to the material build-up on the probe and material bridging between the probe and the hopper wall. The measured signal does not flow to the hopper wall through the probe in the backward direction but flows only through the material.

The salient features of this level measuring instrument are as follow:

  • Three Element Coat Guard Technology
  • Can be configured either for High or Low Level point switching
  • Reduces the Inventory cost
  • Ignores material build-up on the probe
  • Suitable for the highly dusty environment
  • High Reliability
  • Fast and Easy Installation Simple Calibration
  • Field selectable operation logic
  • Provides economical solutions
  • Various models not required

The specifications of these point level switch are as follow:

The Principle of Working:

The major shortcoming of the conventional method is that after the level has once increased and then decreased, there may be a coating left on the probe sensed by the instrument as though the level is still on the probe. In our switch, a coat guard amplifier is incorporated in the circuit having its output exactly at the same voltage and phase at all times as its input.

The output is connected through the shield of the low capacitance co-axial cable to the concentric tube on the sense probe, called shield element. There is no current flow through the cable as both the elements, sense and shield are exactly at the same potential and phase at all times.

This results in no change in calibration due to coating on the probe and the temperature effect of the cable. This makes it possible to increase or shorten the cable connecting the switching unit without changing the original calibration.

Reliable Level Detection Across Applications

Designed for monitoring levels in silos, tanks, and hoppers, this level switch employs the RF Admittance principle to ensure accurate detection of solids, liquids, and slurries. Its adjustable sensitivity makes it adaptable to varying media densities, making it highly versatile for numerous industrial sectors.

Robust Construction for Demanding Environments

Encased in an aluminum die-cast enclosure with IP65/NEMA 4X protection, the level switch resists dust, water, and harsh process conditions. Its polished stainless steel body, with PTFE insulation, ensures extended mechanical life and reliability, even in aggressive media.

Flexible Installation and User-Friendly Operation

With both threaded and flanged mounting options, the device accommodates varied tank or silo configurations. The intuitive LED indication for relay status and easy potentiometer-based sensitivity adjustment streamline setup and maintenance procedures, suitable for automation and continuous processes.

FAQs of Level Switch - Boot type RF Admittance:

Q: How does the Boot Type RF Admittance Level Switch function in industrial applications?

A: This level switch uses the RF Admittance principle to measure the change in admittance caused by the presence or absence of material around the sensing element. This enables reliable level detection for solids, slurries, and liquids within silos, tanks, or hoppers.

Q: What installation process is required for this level switch?

A: The switch supports both threaded and flanged mounting types, allowing flexible installation. The 1 BSP process connection can be customized. Secure the unit into the desired tank or vessel connection, wire the power supply, and adjust sensitivity as needed.

Q: When should sensitivity adjustment be performed and how is it done?

A: Sensitivity should be adjusted when installing the switch, or if theres a significant change in the process media (like density or composition). Adjustment is performed using the provided potentiometer, ensuring optimal response for your application.

Q: Where can this level switch be used?

A: It is suitable for use in industrial environments such as cement plants, food processing, water treatment facilities, and any location requiring precise level detection in silos, tanks, or hoppers. Its IP65/NEMA 4X enclosure allows usage in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Q: What are the key benefits of using this level switch?

A: The device offers high reliability and automation compatibility, wide-ranging media compatibility, robust environmental protection, and a long mechanical life exceeding one million operations. Its adjustable sensitivity and clear LED relay status indication enhance usability.

Q: How does the switch provide operational status information?

A: An integrated LED indicator displays the relay (output) status, enabling operators to quickly confirm device activity and identify material presence or absence at a glance.
